In my years growing up, I don't think I ever truly believed that I could be witnessing history in the making. It makes me truly happy to see that I was wrong in doubting this phenomenon and I am even happier to watch a strong woman and an African American gentleman in this campaign for the Presidency.
Just looking at it from a gender and racial point of view and keeping our eyes on the history of this country, this is truly an amazing sight to see.
Understanding the view of women and how hard we have worked to alter that notion... Remembering people like Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr....thinking about things like segregation, civil rights, women's rights...
It's these pivotal moments, movements, people and ideologies from our history as a country that make me so proud today!
